DragoNation celebrated its 10th anniversary in Hong Kong with an Annual Gala Dinner on 26 May 2018 at Harbour Grand Kowloon, followed by a Global Youth Forum on 27 May 2018 co-organised by and held at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Our theme in 2018 is “Vision 2030 – The Role of Young Chinese Leaders in the Global Arena”. Over 500 leaders from all walks of life reunited in Hong Kong to share this historical moment. Alumni from USA, Canada, Australia, and various other parts of the world were present, spanning across a total of 15 countries.
We were honoured to have the presence of outstanding leaders and contributors as officiating guests: The Hon. Lau Kong-wah, JP, Mr. Tam Yiu-chung, GBM, GBS, JP, Dr. David Lan, GBS, ISO, JP, Dr. David Chung Wai-keung, JP, Dr. Bernard Chan Pak-li, JP, Ms. Shelley Lee, GBS, OBE, JP, Mr. Andy Ho and various guests. The day was blessed with the full support from others who could not attend in person including The Hon. Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, GBM, GBS, JP, Mr. Lau Ming-wai, GBS, JP, Mr. Bernard Charnwut Chan, GBS, JP, and Mr. Vincent Lo, GBM, GBS, JP.
During the Dinner, welcome remarks was given by Mr. Rex Lai, President of the DragoNation. He shared the vision of being an international Chinese leader as well as the achievement of DragoNation.
Dr. David Lan, one of the founding directors of the Dragon Foundation, reflected on the history and establishment of the Dragon Foundation, highlighted that the Dragon Foundation still holds the title of performing the longest Dragon dance in the Guinness book of records, and emphasised the importance of Chinese youths’ role as “Descendants of the Dragon”.
Celebrity alumni such as Mr. Tony Ip (Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award 2016), Mr. Simon Huang (Founder of Xberts and Forbes 30 Under 30 2017) and Ms. Anny Chang (Founder of City Wanderer and Forbes 30 Under 30 2017) were also present. It is our pleasure to also have Mr. Li Chan Wing, senior media person, as the guest emcee, bringing endless joy to all.
